I also received my jerky today and here are my reviews of the 3 bags I bought below. I'm also in process of getting the Believer Special so hopefully I will get to try the other flavors soon.
Sake teriyaki - overall rating 9
Heat 0/10
Tenderness 10/10
The flavor was just amazing and the meat was so tender. I ordered this flavor based on the strength of the other reviews but expected it to finish last i my taste test but it finished first. This will definitely be a flavor I re-order with the believers special....Believe that! There is no beef jerky I have tried that tastes anything like it.
Memphis BBQ - overall rating 8
BBQ flavor 8/10
Heat 1/10
Tenderness 8/10
It was tender as most on the board have pointed out but I would of liked to see a little more kick to it. That being said, I can definitely see how this would be popular with those who like a tender and mild BBQ taste.
Tequila lime habanero - overall rating 8.5
Tenderness 7/10
Heat 10/10
I have to agree with the board on this one. It had some heat and kick to it but it never became uncomfortable for me. I can see this becoming very popular with the Mexican and East Asian Indian communities. My rating of 8.5 doesn't mean I think its better than the Memphis BBQ but I do feel it will sell better in its target demographics and thats why I am giving it a higher overall grade...some people will just order spicy and not care to try anything else.
