Kelly shared new video of the shootout that occurred when terror suspect Ahmad Rahami engaged in a tense shootout with police in Linden, N.J.
The FBI is focused on Rahami’s overseas travel, including trips to his home country of Afghanistan, in addition to the one disclosed by a friend earlier Monday, Catherine Herridge reported on The Kelly File.
Authorities are looking into who Rahami may have met with in the Middle Eastern country, and whether he was radicalized there.
Herridge said the FBI indeed had prior contact with Rahami after an alleged domestic incident with his wife.
At a New York news conference Monday, an FBI official said there was, at the time, “Nothing to indicate that he was on our radar [there was a] domestic incident some time ago, but the allegations were recanted.”
However, Rep. Albio Sires (D-N.J.), who represents the area directly opposite New York City where Rahami lived, said the suspect had another wife in Pakistan.
“At the time, she was pregnant...and needed to get a visa for the baby,” Sires told NBC News.
Trace Gallagher reported that the wife, who may have instead lived in Afghanistan, left the US a few days ago for the United Arab Emirates, but was intercepted by Emirati authorities.
