Glad to see work continues to expand on Alivisatos' prior works on TQD stress sensors. I noticed that Nanosys was a contributor in this related July 2016 publication:
http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acs.nanolett.6b01907 Hmmm, I wonder if Nanosys is into TQD's now[?]...it does seem conceivable, Alivisatos is a co-founder of Nanosys & is a pioneer in TQD research. That put a hitch in my giddy-up. I would much prefer they rely on procuring TQD's from a specialty supplier that has perfected TQD's, like QMC for instance...who also have the capability to mass produce at low cost. Sure would be swell to get a piece of this action if it becomes widely adopted...useful in aeronautics, aerospace, bridges, pipelines, building structures, critical machinery (reactors etc) & more.
