Former President George Bush has said a lot of stupid and arrogant things. Besides invading the wrong the country, that’s pretty much what he’s known for.
Among these incredibly stupid and arrogant things he’s said is when he once told Jay Leno he’s not “worried how history will judge him.” Well, he really might want to start worrying because history is judging him.
We have had 43 presidents (or just slightly more than Republicans running in 2016) and not all of them have been Mt. Rushmore material. Since opinion polls are very biased and often reflect knee-jerk reactions, it’s best to rely on historians.
Moreover, a series of damning facts to confirm who was a good president and who was just there for the perks. Having been said, 61 percent of historians rated George W. Bush’s presidency as the worst in history. Similarly, 109 professional historians judged the Bush presidency as an abject failure while a mere 1.8 percent classified it as a success.
That’s right–good old Dubya was worse than that schmuck William Harrison, who refused to wear a coat during his inauguration and wound up dying from a cold while in office.
Here’s an infographic listing the reasons that factored into the historians choosing Bush as the worst president:
The above infographic simply doesn’t do justice to the wrongful invasion of Iraq and the many missed opportunities to kill many terrorists, including Osama Bin Laden himself.
In February of ’01, for example, after President Bush rejected proposals from the National Commission on Terrorism to create a Homeland Security agency, commission member Paul Bremer (later Bush’s administrator in Iraq who would go on to totally f*ck up post invasion Iraq with de-batthification, said the following:
“The new administration seems to be paying no attention to the problem of terrorism. What they will do is stagger along until there’s a major incident and then suddenly say, ‘Oh, my God, shouldn’t we be organized to deal with this?’ (HubPages)”
Worse yet, in 2002, Bush’s National Security Adviser for counter-terrorism, Randy Beers, was furious that Bush downright refused to go after al Qaeda. Instead, Bush was holding back troops and resources from Afghanistan to prepare for the petty vendetta and commerce war in Iraq. Beers later quit the Bush administration out of frustration with Bush’s lack of interest in destroying al Qaeda
With this all being said, the deadly spread of ISIS in Iraq and throughout the Middle East is irrefutable proof that, despite having been out of office for seven years now, George Bush is still F*cking up America while he paints feet and cackles.
