BRUSSELS, Belgium, Sept. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE: WBC ) ( www.wabco-auto.com ), a leading global supplier of technologies that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, today announced that it will showcase its newest suite of industry-leading technologies at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016, one of the industry’s most global and comprehensive trade shows, in Hanover, Germany from September 21 to September 29.

WABCO will demonstrate its continued technology leadership by featuring breakthrough solutions that mobilize the intelligent systems of trucks, buses and trailers, and by leveraging the increasing connectivity of these sophisticated onboard systems. WABCO will also demonstrate how it is empowering tomorrow’s fleets through advanced fleet management solutions and aftermarket services. In addition, WABCO’s technological advancements help to pave the way for autonomous driving in partnership with commercial vehicle industry players.

“At IAA 2016, we will continue to show what differentiates WABCO as a leading supplier to original equipment makers and fleets around the world as we mobilize vehicle intelligence to improve commercial vehicle safety and efficiency through increased connectivity and integration of advanced driver assistance systems,” said Jacques Esculier, WABCO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “As our industry converges toward autonomous driving, WABCO is at the forefront of the essential technologies required to turn this vision into reality.”

“We will also present how WABCO’s industry-leading innovations continue to empower tomorrow’s commercial fleets, particularly through real time, on-vehicle and external data connectivity, resulting in improved operating efficiency and better safety performance,” said Esculier. “Alongside rapid expansion and globalization of our product portfolio to advance fleet performance, WABCO technologies lead to new and different business models for fleets and transport companies.”

WABCO Mobilizing Vehicle Intelligence

For decades, WABCO has been laying the foundation for autonomous driving of commercial vehicles through its industry-leading safety- and efficiency-enabling technologies such as electronic braking, electronic stability control, air disc brakes, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation and avoidance, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, modular braking system platform, advanced emergency braking, manual transmission automation, electronically controlled air suspension and intelligent air management, among other breakthroughs.

Customers value WABCO’s extensive track record for mobilizing vehicle intelligence, making WABCO a leading partner of choice globally for the development and systems integration of sensor, control and actuation technology alongside its expertise in local product application.

At IAA 2016, WABCO will unveil further technological advancements in support of the industry’s pursuit of autonomous driving. These innovations include technologies that will lead to enabling 360-degree sensor detection as well as expansion of WABCO’s breakthrough modular braking system platform to provide yet another advanced functionality. WABCO will introduce new capabilities for vehicle control, adding to the recently announced industry-first evasive maneuver assist, jointly developed by WABCO and ZF, that connects active steering with active braking. In addition, the company will showcase smart, secure and unique solutions for onboard and cloud-based communications.

WABCO Empowering Tomorrow’s Fleets

As a leading global supplier of complex vehicle control systems and sophisticated electronics to original equipment manufacturers, WABCO is privileged to increasingly contribute to the sustained success of commercial and government-owned fleets in every region. WABCO is differentiated in the world of fleets through its expanding portfolio of leading fleet management solutions, its industry award-winning Intelligent Trailer Program offering more than 40 different key trailer functions, and WABCO’s growing connectivity between off-vehicle data analytics support and intelligent on-vehicle safety and efficiency systems.

Tomorrow’s fleets will also be empowered through big data from WABCO’s onboard electronic braking, stability, efficiency and driver assistance systems integrated with fleet management solutions. WABCO will preview technological innovations to help fleets realize their full safety and efficiency potential through advancements in automated driving, and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications, among other intelligent solutions.
