Ohhh, and how about this ....
Buy 10M at 0.0008 then dump at 0.0041, then short at 0.004 and cover at 0.0012 then buy 'em up at 0.0013 and dump 'em at 0.0015!!! Thats a lot better than your trade scenario!
The point is, .... woulda coulda shoulda, any hopeless retail flipper can look at a stock chart with retrospect and show how much more money he could have made flipping the stock at exactly the lows and highs versus just holding through that same period, but the real issue becomes actualized performance in real time. If you think you can proactively pick every low to buy and every top to dump and get short then cover at the exact low and go long again, well, then there is ample money to be made, but realistic and seasoned investors know that there is risk in any trade or investment you put on, so sometimes you get the direction right and sometimes you get it wrong. We can recklessly talk about all the potential profits an imaginary flipper could make with all the historic swings we see in any chart, but the key for experienced investors in the real world, not fantasy land, is to consider how often and what is the likely hood that a certain number of those trades would move against them, which will happen. We can argue the merits or stupidity of flipping strategies, but please dont point to imaginary maximum gains in historic price charts as proof that the flipping strategy always trumps long term investing, it doesn't.
