ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP(R) Port Jefferson/East Patchogue, NY Practitioner Recognized for her Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Otolaryngology

TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Sept. 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The ear, nose and throat specialists and sub-specialists of ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA)-the nation's preeminent otolaryngology practice-have long valued support offered to clinicians by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS).

Year after year, so many of the Practice's 180+ physicians attend the AAO-HNS annual meeting, this year to be held September 18-21 in San Diego, California.  Indeed, dozens of ENTA physicians have spoken and led seminars at AAO-HNS events held during the convention.

This year is particularly special to ENTA, because one of its own-Dr. Lauren S. Zaretsky-will be honored by the AAO-HNS and awarded its Presidential Citation, in recognition of her superb service to the organization and its goals.

Lauren S. Zaretsky, MD is Board-Certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and a member of the American College of Surgeons. After earning her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, she completed two years of general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and went on to serve her Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Zaretsky recently completed a six year term on the Board of Directors at the AAO-HNS, is the past Chair of the Ethics Committee for AAO-HNS and the Women in Otolaryngology Section/AAO-HNS Program's Committee. In addition, Dr. Zaretsky currently serves as the President of the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology. She also holds a position of Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University.

"Dr. Zaretsky is truly an inspiration, not just to her partners at ENTA, but to clinicians everywhere," noted Dr. Robert Green, President of ENTA.  "Her unending willingness to give back to her colleagues and to the overall field of otolaryngology serves as a template for excellence.  I congratulate the AAO-HNS for selecting her as their Citation recipient."

The AAO-HNS Presidential Citations recognize individuals who have made a lasting impression through their outstanding contributions and dedication to the Academy, or the greater house of medicine. Citation honorees are recognized during the Annual Meeting Opening Ceremony.

In its 119th year, the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO is deemed the "the world's foremost gathering of otolaryngologists." Held each fall, it provides the only opportunity for thousands of Academy members, non-member physicians, allied health professionals, administrators, and exhibiting companies to gather for an exhilarating four days of presentation, conversation, sharing and learning.

This year, more than 5,500 medical experts and professionals from around the world are expected to attend its many instructional courses, mini-seminars, scientific oral presentations, and honorary guest lectures.
