President at the time of the September 11 attacks, George W Bush remembers the infamous moment when he was informed that "America is under attack" in front of a classroom of schoolchildren.
In a interview for a National Geographic Channel documentary, Mr Bush recounts the moments leading up to when he was told that a second passenger jet had hit New York's World Trade Center.
The then president was visiting a Florida classroom at the time of the 9/11 attacks, and the incident - which was caught by television cameras - has often been used by critics to ridicule his apparently dazed response to the attack.
But Mr Bush had already been informed by aides that a plane had struck the South Tower just as he was about to enter the classroom.
"At first I thought it was a light aircraft. My reaction was, man, either the weather was bad or something extraordinary happened to the pilot." Mr Bush recalled.
The former president revealed how he issued orders to staff before deciding to continue his visit as planned.
"I then informed some of my staff members to provide help to New York City, whatever help they needed, to take care of this incident, and then walked into the classroom."
