The company's net income available to common shareholders for the first quarter of 2016 was $66.8 million, compared to $70.1 million in the first quarter 2015. On a per-share basis, net income was $1.07 per diluted common share, compared to $1.10 per diluted common share reported a year earlier and $0.90 for the fourth quarter of 2015. Returns on average assets and common equity were 0.96 percent and 9.55 percent, respectively, compared to 1.02 percent and 10.34 percent, respectively, for the same period a year earlier.
