Legitimate concerns. IMHO, the fact that there are alternatives out there for alkaline water is no where near as important as you're assuming it is. I've been watching and comparing the abilities, reliabilities and price tags on water ionizer/filtering units for years. The cost of the units that are actually healthy and do what they claim to do without needing to also add/replenish minerals or use harsh chemicals like chlorine is hefty. The platinum coated/plated titanium electrodes needed to prevent the leaching of heavy metals into your water (and making you sick instead of healthier) is what jacks up the price tags on the ionizers just as it has for years on catalytic converters for automotive exhaust systems. If you found everything as you wanted it to be in a unit once you narrowed it down and it was inexpensive, a hell of a lot more people would have them. It still wouldn't stop the sale of bottled water, even lower PH varieties. Not only is it just way too convenient when on the go, but mention PH to some people and guaranteed you'll just get a "what difference does that make" response, or they just don't care. I'm not sure what all the worrying is about. The sales are still strong on every run-of-the-mill variety out there, so a very good quality water like this one with some interesting "mystique" to go with it should do very well.
