Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, today announced that the Nuveen Texas Quality Income Municipal Fund (NSYE: NTX) has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a notice of intention to redeem all of its outstanding MuniFund Term Preferred (MTP) shares. The MTP redemption price will be the $10 liquidation preference per share, plus an additional amount representing the final accumulated distribution amounts owed. The fund expects to finance the MTP share redemptions with the proceeds of newly issued preferred shares ("new preferred shares"

. The redemptions are contingent upon the completion of all aspects of the new preferred share placement by the fund, which may not occur as planned. Official notification of the redemptions will be delivered to MTP shareholders of the fund at a later date through The Depository Trust Company (DTC).
