Community Bankers Trust Corporation (the "Company" (NASDAQ: ESXB), the holding company for Essex Bank (the "Bank", today reported unaudited results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2015. Net income available to common shareholders was $2.2 million, or $0.10 per common share, basic and fully diluted, for the fourth quarter. For the year ended December 31, 2015, the Company had a net loss available to common shareholders of $2.5 million, or $0.11 per common share, basic and fully diluted. Excluding the one-time pre-tax charge of $13.1 million related to the termination of the FDIC shared-loss agreements in the third quarter of 2015, net income for the year would have been approximately $6.1 million, or $0.28 per common share, basic and fully diluted. Net loss available to common shareholders was $7.7 million, or $0.35 per common share, basic and fully diluted for the third quarter. Excluding the one-time charge of $13.1 million related to the termination of the FDIC shared-loss agreements, net income for the quarter would have been $853,000. Community Bankers Trust Corporation (NASDAQ: ESXB) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Essex Bank (the "Bank", has entered into an agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the "FDIC" that terminates its only shared-loss arrangement with the FDIC. Under the agreement, the FDIC paid $3.1 million to the Bank as consideration for the early termination of the shared-loss arrangement. The Bank entered into the arrangement with the FDIC in connection with its acquisition of loans and real estate assets, following the failure of Suburban Federal Savings Bank in Maryland, in an FDIC-assisted acquisition in 2009.
