I agree, AlanC, a very smart person I know who has been connected to the industry says that Fidelity is the short-seller's friend -- they make a ton of money lending out stock, and the client never knows.
At least Schwab offers to PAY you if they lend out your stock. Several months ago I got two emails from them asking if I wanted to lend out a bunch of stock, and how they would give ME the money (or at least a big chunk of it). Since I've pretty much only got CTIX in that account -- gee I wonder what stock they were talking about.....
