Dear State of Maine:

Please do something about the human bowling jacket who is your governor because…yikes. The Portland Press-Herald is trying to tell you the same thing.


"Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage," a recording of the governor's phone message says. "I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you (expletive). I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I'm a racist.

I've spent my life helping black people and you little son-of-a-bitch, socialist (expletive). You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you."

I can't explain why he would emphasize his middle name. Maybe he thinks it makes him sound less like…no, it doesn't make him sound less like what he is. Listen to the audio. One-fiftieth of the United States is being governed by a guy who wouldn't get by the call screener on a 30-watt station in Jackman.

There has to be something you can do about this. Please do it soon because the Republican nominee for president thinks this guy is a national political figure. Do something before he becomes Secretary of Defense or something.
