North American homes use an average of seven active connected devices, but laptops and PCs now account for less than 25% of traffic, according to new research by Sandvine.
The broadband network solutions firm’s latest Global Internet Phenomena report claims that the average household uses over seven active devices each day, but 6% of households had more than 15 active devices.
The ‘Inside the Connected Home’ research also said tablets and smartphones used on fixed WiFi networks now account for 30% of North American fixed access traffic – more than laptops.
