Blood Glucose Testing and Diabetes Management Study 2015
M2 - Tue Feb 02, 10:36AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/m5ttq8/blood_glucose) has announced the addition of the "Blood Glucose Testing and Diabetes Management" report to their offering. The report has made a survey of selected companies marketing, manufacturing or developing various blood glucose testing and diabetes management supplies throughout the world. Each company is discussed in extensive depth with a section on its history, product line, business and marketing analysis, and a subjective commentary of the company's market position. Detailed tables and charts with sales forecasts and market share data are also included. There has been a dramatic increase in the incidence of diabetes worldwide, which has been exacerbated by the growing obesity problem across the globe. Once thought of as primarily a childhood disease - sometimes referred to as juvenile diabetes, now mostly Type 1 diabetes - the obesity crisis linked to the adoption of a high-fat, high-carbohydrate, high-calorie American diet has resulted in skyrocketing rates of diabetes, particularly Type 2 diabetes, among adults across the world. As such, the global market for blood glucose testing products is undergoing a significant transition driven by the advent of new analytical technologies and developments in diabetes treatment. Although the blood glucose testing segment of the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry is mature, certain segments of the market, such as home testing devices for diabetes management, will exhibit strong growth. What's more, non-invasive testing now represents a major new area for the application of IVD testing. Additionally, direct access testing - or over-the-counter testing, which allows consumers to order tests themselves without visiting a doctor - has emerged as a strong force in the blood glucose testing segment. The purpose of this report is to describe the specific market segments for blood glucose testing and diabetes management. This study reviews all of the generally-accepted clinical analytical methods that are currently in use today for measuring serum or plasma or whole-blood glucose concentrations. Moreover, it examines clinical measurement devices, reagents and supplies as utilized in hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices and at-home care locations. Key Topics Covered: 1. Overview 2. Global Self-monitoring Blood Glucose Devices Market 2015-2019
M2 - Mon Jan 04, 8:50AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/qblfrr/global) has announced the addition of the "Global Self-monitoring Blood Glucose Devices Market 2015-2019" report to their offering. The global self-monitoring blood glucose devices market to grow at a CAGR of 10.47% over the period 2014-2019. Global Self-monitoring Blood Glucose Devices Market 2015-2019, has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with inputs from industry experts. The report covers the landscape of the market and its growth prospects in the coming years. The report includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market. Self-monitoring blood glucose device is a home-based electronic device. It consists of a glucose sensor and a transmitter that transmits information about glucose levels through radiowaves from the sensor to a receiver, where it is displayed. The regular usage of self-monitoring blood glucose devices can improve self-management of diabetes and prompt an individual to undergo proper diabetes treatment. Though diabetes is a chronic metabolic condition, it can be controlled with proper medication, and dietary and lifestyle management. Most people prefer SMBG devices for convenient monitoring of blood glucose levels. Moreover, regular blood glucose testing is the cornerstone of effective diabetes management. Usage of blood glucose test strips and meters at home can help patients obtain an accurate blood glucose level reading within few seconds. This trend is anticipated to have a significant impact on the SMBG devices market. According to the report, according to WHO, the number of people aged 60 and above will increase tremendously by 2050. By 2030, more than 22% of the world's population will be over 65 years. Almost one-third of the elderly people over the age of 65 are affected by diabetes. The Americas is reported to have a high elderly population, which is estimated to grow at a minimal rate by 2050. Similarly, in Europe, the elderly population will increase by 2050 because of an increase in life expectancy and advances in the healthcare industry. The percentage of the elderly population in APAC is low, including China and India. However, the region will have the largest aging population by 2050. Further, the report states that the presence of alternative methods of glucose monitoring could hinder the growth of the SMBG devices market. Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Patent Landscape Report 2015-2019
M2 - Mon Sep 28, 5:24AM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/v4bzc7/noninvasive) has announced the addition of the "Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Patent Landscape" report to their offering. The global glucose monitoring device market is estimated to reach $14 billion by 2019. To this date, the conventional technique to measure glucose still involves drawing blood (finger pricking), which can cause pain and discomfort for the patient. Hence, the need to find a non-invasive technique to monitor glucose. Many companies have tried to develop non-invasive technology and device for glucose monitoring, but so far with no success. A few devices had obtained approval from the authorities in the USA or Europe before being abandoned : GlucoWatch (Cygnus), Pendra (Pendragon Medical), NBM-200G (OrSense) or HG1-c (C8 MediSensors). Recently, Integrity Applications received the European CE Mark and launched its GlucoTrack DF-F device late 2014 in Europe. While several minimally-invasive devices are now commercially available, bringing to the market a totally non-invasive device would represent a great change for the market and the diabetics. The renewed IP interest for this topic observed recently shows the desire of players to overcome the same cause of failure faced in the last 3 decades, reliability and accuracy of the technology. The IP and the market for non-invasive monitoring of glucose are driven by the ever increasing diabetic population around the world as well as the recent sizeable democratization of wearable sensors for health monitoring. The spectrum of technologies investigated to monitor glucose non-invasively is very broad. Spectrometry is the most trendy technology. Spectrometry regroups various techniques, but they don't all receive the same focus. The spectrum of sample targets studied to perform a non-invasive measurement is also really broad. The detection of glucose level at the skin level or in the blood vessels are the most investigated. But techniques allowing a detection at the level of the eye are also considered and a new comer in the non-invasive glucose monitoring domain is investing mostly in this approach. Key Features Of The Report: - Time evolution of patent publications and countries of patent filings - Current legal status of patents - Ranking of main patent applicants - Joint developments and IP collaboration network of main patent applicants - Key patents - Granted patents near expiration - Relative strength of main companies IP portfolio - Non-invasive glucose monitoring IP profiles of 15 major companies with key patents, partnerships, and IP strength and strategy - The report also provides an extensive Excel database with all patents analyzed in the study Objective Of The Report: - Understand the IP landscape for non-invasive glucose monitoring - Identify key patents - Understand trends in non-invasive glucose monitoring IP - Classify the major players in noninvasive glucose monitoring IP and the relative strength of their patent portfolio - Identify new players in non-invasive glucose monitoring IP - Identify IP collaboration networks between key players Companies Mentioned - Abbott - Animas Technologies - Bayer Healthcare - Cercacor - Futrex - Google - InLight Solutions - Integrity Applications - Key Player Selection - Masimo - OrSense - Panasonic - Roche Diagnostics - Samsung Electronics - Sensys Medical - Toshiba For more information visit http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/v4...oninvasive
