Fujitsu today announced the publication of the Fujitsu Group Environmental Report 2016. From fiscal 2013 through fiscal 2015, the Fujitsu Group set the Fujitsu Group Environmental Action Plan (Stage VII) as its environmental goals, and has been working on environmental improvement activities. This report consolidates fiscal 2015 case studies and results, as well as expressing Fujitsu's way of thinking about environmental management. The system will be deployed to the Joint Center for Advanced High-Performance Computing (JCAHPC), which the two universities jointly operate. The new supercomputer will be an x86 cluster system consisting of 8,208 of the latest FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY x86 servers. These will run on the next-generation Intel(R) Xeon Phi(TM) processors (Intel development code name: Knights Landing), and achieve a theoretical aggregate performance of 25 petaflops (PFLOPS(1)). This newly developed technology puts to work Fujitsu Laboratories' propriety high-dimensional statistical analysis technology to estimate the performance of ships actually at sea. The technology utilizes a massive volume of measurement data gathered while the ship is underway, including sensor data of meteorological and hydrographic conditions(1) such as wind, waves, and ocean currents, ship engine log data, and data about the speed and position of the ship.
