Humble Trump': Eric Trump Reveals New 'Nickname' for Father
Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump, appeared on "America's Newsroom" this morning and praised his father for admitting that he "regrets" some of the things he's said on the campaign trail.
"Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that. And believe it or not, I regret it. And I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain," the GOP nominee said to supporters Thursday night at an event in Charlotte, N.C.
Eric Trump told Bill Hemmer that this "Humble Trump" is the father he knows.
"I think he'll admit that he's strayed, and goes out there and he gets passionate, and he's not reading off of a teleprompter 99 percent of the time like all these other politicians are," Trump said. "He has strayed, and he admitted it last night, and I think that was great."
"It was cool that he turned it back. It was neat that he did that."
Hemmer asked Trump what he meant by "Humble Trump."
"That's the father I know, and he's an amazing man, and he's got a heart of gold," Trump said. "I've seen that my whole life, and that's what you saw last night. And I think people are going to see a lot more of that."
