The singer is making the donation after her fans in the state gave her a warm welcome and made her feel 'completely at home' when she kicked off her '1989' tour last year.
Taylor Swift gives fans another reason to adore her. The always-generous pop superstar has just announced that she's donating a large amount of money to Louisiana which has been in crisis due to the massive flooding that has killed at least 11 people.
In a statement to The Associated Press, Swift said that she's giving away $1 million to Louisiana after receiving warm welcome from Swifties in the state when she kicked off the U.S. leg of her massive "1989 World Tour" last year.
"We began 'The 1989 World Tour' in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking," Swift shared.
"I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time," the 26-year-old songbird added.
In addition to those who lost their lives, the worst flooding in Louisiana history has affected thousands of other people in the state. About 40,000 homes have been destroyed and more than 60,000 people have registered for disaster aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency since the flooding hit the state, according to Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards' office.
