NEW YORK, Aug. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Schimenti Construction will play a major role in the August 16 Grand Re-Opening of the World Trade Center as the retail construction firm will showcase nine new stores at the launch event.
Schimenti Construction served as the general contractor for nine stores in the Oculus, a 78,000 square foot retail and dining centerpiece of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.

The Hub's concourse will connect visitors to 11 different subway lines, the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) rail system, Battery Park City Ferry Terminal, the World Trade Center Memorial Site, WTC Towers 1, 2, 3, and 4, the World Financial Center and the Winter Garden.
It will represent the most integrated network of underground pedestrian connections in New York City.
The August 16 Family Day celebration will start at 12 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. and feature activities throughout the center's retail stores, hourly stage performances in the Oculus by a host of cultural icons and arts organizations, as well as samplings from the center's amazing selection of food vendors.
