Due to Brilacidin's unique MOA, bacteria are unlikely to develop resistance to it. The human body has been using defensins against bacteria for thousands of years without resistance developing. After all, what are bacteria going to do, start growing little Kevlar vests?
Brilacidin is the beginning of a new paradigm in the field of antibiotics. Traditional antibiotics will most likely be relegated to the dustbin of history as defensins memetics become the primary drugs used in the war against disease causing bacteria.
