Third Century Bancorp (OTCBB: TDCB), the holding company of Mutual Savings Bank, announced net income of $132,000 for the quarter ended June 30, 2016, or $0.10 per basic and diluted share, compared to net income of $108,000, or $0.08 per basic and diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. The improvement in net income was primarily due to an $80,000 increase in net interest income. For the six months ended June 30, 2016, the Company recorded net income of $293,000, or $0.23 per basic and diluted share, compared to net income of $239,000 for the six months ended June 30, 2015, or $0.19 per basic and diluted share. The improvement in net income for the six month period was primarily due to a $142,000 increase in net interest income.
