a designated grower can grow only for two persons, including themselves. The DG category was designed to assist those who might not have the capacity to, or not wanting to grow their own. They still must have a valid Health Canada registration to be listed as being able to grow their own. A background check will go back ten years to ensure there are no drug charges on that persons record. The amount allowed to be grown will be dependent upon the prescription so a person who is allowed one gram per day will be allowed to have two plants outdoors or five indoor plants at one time to provide them with what they need. Commercial growers must still be located inside, under security and will not be allowed to grow outdoors. A DG is not for a company.
A DG cannot be compensated for being a DG so no financial benefit. It is a compassionate designation. To ensure what is being posted is correct please contact Health Canada and ask for clarification. I did.
