Don't Think DEA Can Change Classification Anyway .

I never understood this whole DEA reclassifying marijuana stuff anyway. I don't think they have that kind of power. Agencies have all kinds of rules and regulations. They can't just wake up one morning and willy nilly make a decision. They have to follow process and procedure.
My understanding from following the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP - https://www.mpp.org/) is that for a drug to be rescheduled there are specific tests that the drug must undergo that take years. The best I think we could have gotten from the DEA is that they plan to support test that would move toward rescheduling.
BTW, I think that's what the DEA said ... However, all we have so far are news reporters accounts. I don't think a statement from the DEA has been released yet. Reading the NPR report, while it has a negative headline like all the other reports, sound pretty positive.

DEA states it has never turned down a research request for Marijuana and that they plan to make it easier to do research and that they plan to grow more government Marijuana for supporting more research.
