No, he didn't. That was the after the fact 'explanation' that the Trump 'team' quickly got together to formulate.
No intellectually honest person mistakes the context of a reference to the 2nd amendment, after the speaker first hyperbolizes/demonizes the agenda of SCOTUS Judges that his opponent might appoint.
In other words, before the remark Trump ginned up the rubes with the always right around the corner repeal of the 2nd Amendment, this time by Hillary and her judges....unless Obama get's 'busy'.
How unfortunate for the GOP that they've nominated someone who is wearing a political suicide vest.
