now lets look at the unemployment rate in the country and the cost of living increase here. in the 50s - 70s into the early 80s the unemployment rate was lower then it is now. why? we still had the illegal immigrants doing the farm work and other jobs. but in the 70s there was the woman rights movement witch over time but more women into the work force. there are only so many jobs out there and always has been but we did not have them filed with women as well as men so there was a more demand for workers as the women came into the work force it cut down on the amount of jobs available for men and women so the unemployment rate started to clime until it got to were it is today. less workers more jobs available. for the cost of living it started to clime as there were now to family incomes. the more we as the people make the higher the cost of living is because rents went up price if products went up as there was more money in the economy the retailers felt the raise the prices on the goods sold and land lords could raise the rent on the units they were renting . so by saying it is only because of those here illegally is wrong. in the same note in the same time period you started to see higher divorce rates as women were not as dependent on there husbands . marriage became more of a convenience for women then some one they depended on to take care of the family.
