OT: Olympics mystery solved, and the answer is of course that the incredibly corrupt and venal Olympics management (which pays themselves huge salaries while many of the athletes work as cab drivers and waiting tables) is crazy. Well, that's not news. But their standards seem kinda nuts. I saw the Virgin Islands team come in -- twice -- because it looks like the tiny British Virgin Islands AND the U.S. Virgin Islands both have teams. U.S. Virgin Islands people are U.S. citizens, as are Puerto Ricans. Don't know if Guam, also U.S. citizens, had a team. Standard bearers for at least 2 small countries (Marshall Islands and another one that I can't remember) are American citizens with a very tenuous connection to those countries. Marshall Islands' one has a father who lived there LOL.
