The REAL origin of Red Bull. Let me tell you the r

First off, Red Bull originates from Thailand. It used to be the beverage of choice for the yaba freaks (meth/speed addicts) in Thailand after a night of being strung out on their version of speed (called yaba in Thai).
Fifteen plus years ago, I used to see these skinny little Thai guys gathering around outside the 7-11s drinking out of little brown bottles in the morning. I thought, "Wow, these Thai guys are drinking alcohol pretty early in the morning." The bottles looked like airplane bottles of liquor.
Then another expat told me to never let someone see you drinking Red Bull because they will think you're a drug addict. To get rid of that stigma, the business people in Thailand somehow got it into the Hiso clubs as a mixer with vodka. What Is known as trendy, hipster, and/or upper class in the US is called Hiso, short for "High Society" in Thailand.
Red Bull erased its stigma and became popular in the rest of society. I think it was an Austrian guy who bought the worldwide rights and brought it to the US.
So the point is, product markets change, customer bases change, and nothing is carved in stone. Kids are always looking for the next big thing so their friends think they are cool. RMHB can be that next big thing.
Timing has a lot to do with it too. Remember "Jolt" the highly caffeinated cola drink? It never caught on but it was just a cola version of an energy drink, minus the taurine. It was before it's time, too early for the market. Then there was "Surge" a citrus Mountain Dew like caffeinated drink.
Why hasn't Bacchus, the Korean version of Red Bull, caught on in the US? I know you can get it in L.A.
RMHB has just a good of a chance as any of its predecessors. But they have some advantages. When Red Bull and Monster started out, they had to educate customers about what energy drinks were first. They also didn't have social media or much of an internet for marketing.
Just my two cents......
