You might want to look at GALT's GR-MD-02. It has been shown to REVERSE liver fibrosis in rats. The Phase 1 used people suffering from NASH and the highest dose did have a positive effect in humans even though the trial was not powered such as to "prove" efficacy. There are currently two Phase 2's being conducted to evaluate efficacy against liver fibrosis. The compound was originally developed as a cancer med and there are also two on-going Phase 2's where the compound is being tested in combination with already approved cancer drugs.
An interesting note: One of the patients in the Phase 1 had psoriasis patient whose psoriasis cleared up substantially during the trial. That motivated the company to do a POC trial using GR-MD-02 to treat psoriasis and it worked. However, it's an IV drug but it could possibly be a competitor for Prurisol.
