The European Equity Fund, Inc. (NYSE:EEA) and The New Germany Fund, Inc. (NYSE:GF) (each, a "Fund," and collectively, the "Funds" each announced today that its Board of Directors declared the distributions set forth below. GF's total distributions will be paid in stock except that any stockholder of record as of May 19, 2016 may elect to receive such distribution in cash.

The Central Europe, Russia and Turkey Fund, Inc. (NYSE:CEE), The European Equity Fund, Inc. (NYSE:EEA), and The New Germany Fund, Inc. (NYSE:GF) (each, a "Fund," and, collectively, the "Funds" announced today that the Annual Meeting of Stockholders for each Fund will be held at 10:00 a.m., Eastern time on June 30, 2016 at the offices of Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc., 345 Park Avenue, New York, New York 10154. At the Meeting, stockholders of the Funds will consider the election of Directors and certain other routine matters. In addition, stockholders of EEA will be asked to consider a proposal to adopt Articles of Amendment to the Fund's charter to eliminate the classification of the Board of Directors. Details of the proposals will be set forth in proxy statements expected to be mailed to stockholders next month. Holders of shares of common stock of record of the Funds at the close of business on May 17, 2016 are entitled to vote at the Meeting and any postponements or adjournments thereof.

The boards of directors of Central Europe Russia and Turkey Fund Inc (NYSE:CEE), The European Equity Fund Inc (NYSE:EEA) and The New Germany Fund Inc (NYSE:GF) (together, the funds) each announced on Tuesday that they have authorised an extension of the current repurchase programme allowing permitting (NYSE:EEA), (NYSE:GF) and (NYSE:CEE) to buy back up to 874,000, 1,610,000 and 867,000 shares, respectively, or about 10% of each one's currently outstanding shares, for the twelve month period from 1 August 2015 to 31 July 2016.

The Central Europe, Russia and Turkey Fund, Inc. (NYSE:CEE), The European Equity Fund, Inc. (NYSE:EEA), and The New Germany Fund, Inc. (NYSE:GF) (each, a "Fund," and collectively, the "Funds" each announced today that its Board of Directors has approved an extension of the current repurchase authorization permitting EEA, GF and CEE to repurchase up to 874,000, 1,610,000, and 867,000 shares, respectively (representing approximately 10% of each Fund's current shares outstanding), for the twelve month period from August 1, 2015 through July 31, 2016. Repurchases will be made from time to time when they are believed to be in the best interests of a Fund.
