Construction of the unit is now about 98% complete, and it is adhering to its construction schedules and cost estimates, TVA spokesman Scott Brooks told Industrial Info TVA will spend between $4 billion and $4.5 billion to complete the 1,180-megawatt (MW) pressurized water reactor, which is expected to be online in early 2016.

The agency's 172-page report, released March 9, considered five scenarios for future electric load growth across seven southeastern states. Under development for 18 months, the TVA board is expected to vote on a final IRP plan this summer.
