Greene County Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company" (NASDAQ:GCBC), the holding company for The Bank of Greene County and its subsidiary Greene County Commercial Bank, today reported net income for the fiscal year and quarter ended June 30, 2016. Net income for the fiscal year and quarter ended June 30, 2016 was $9.0 million, or $1.06 per basic and diluted share, and $2.3 million, or $0.28 per basic and $0.27 per diluted share, respectively, as compared to $7.2 million, or $0.85 per basic and diluted share, and $1.8 million, or $0.22 per basic and $0.21 per diluted share, for the fiscal year and quarter ended June 30, 2015, respectively. Earnings per share have been restated for prior periods as a result of a 2-for-1 stock split which was paid on March 15, 2016 as if the new shares had been issued and outstanding at the same time as the original shares. Net income increased $1.8 million, or 24.7%, when comparing the years ended June 30, 2016 and 2015, and increased $513,000, or 28.2%, when comparing the quarters ended June 30, 2016 and 2015.

(the "Company" (NASDAQ:GCBC), the holding company for The Bank of Greene County and its subsidiary Greene County Commercial Bank, today reported net income for the nine and three months ended March 31, 2016, which is the third quarter of the Company's fiscal year ending June 30, 2016. Net income for the nine and three months ended March 31, 2016 was $6.6 million, or $0.78 per basic and diluted share, and $2.2 million, or $0.26 per basic and $0.25 per diluted share, respectively, as compared to $5.4 million, or $0.64 per basic and $0.63 per diluted share, and $1.8 million, or $0.21 per basic and diluted share, for the nine and three months ended March 31, 2015, respectively. Earnings per share have been restated for prior periods as a result of a 2-for-1 stock split which was paid on March 15, 2016 as if the new shares had been issued and outstanding at the same time as the original shares. The Company has paid a quarterly cash dividend of $0.185 per share (representing an annual rate of $0.74 per share) during calendar 2015, which, following the Company's two-for-one stock split effective March 15, 2016, is equivalent to a quarterly cash dividend of $0.0925 per share (representing an annual rate of $0.37 per share). The Board of Directors has approved the continuation of the quarterly cash dividend of $0.0925 per share on the Company's common stock.
