Because the short form that he used to secure his passport as a young man was sufficient to that purpose, as it is for all U.S. citizens.

Also, the background checks he underwent for admission to Columbia U., Harvard Law, the Chicago law firm he worked for, the U. of Chicago Law school instructor job, his run for the State of IL Senate, the U.S Senate and against the Clinton campaign WOULD have discovered if he was not a U.S citizen.

You have to be a complete f*cking moron to think that gauntlet could have been successfully run, without 'discovery'.

And of course the long form birth certificate that he did make public, 3 years after elected when he humiliated Trump and killed bin Laden in the same weekend, proved that Trump, and ALL other birthers, were ignorant bigots and morons.
