Two and half years ago I opened accounts with Ameritrade for both my brothers and transferred 100K shares each from my account to them. Ameritrade charged them $38 transaction fee to convert those shares 25.1 to 1 yet they didn't charge my own cash and IRA accounts a charge for transfer? I guess if you have more shares they don't charge you? Anyone experienced that? I guess I will have to send the fees in to cover the debits outstanding or they will sell 10% of remaining shares to cover expense since the shares have already lost 85% of their original value. What a mess. Seems unfair that the holder has to pay the fee on something they didn't have any say or control over.
