He survived impeachment largely because most people weighed the 'pros' more heavily than the 'cons'.
Do you remember how many Republicans resigned around that time, because of their own infidelities? Gingrich, Livingston and Hyde.
And one of Clinton's biggest castigators, Sen. Larry Craig, quit after his game of footsy in the bathroom stall some years later in Minneapolis.
