Trump: 'Of Course' Comment About Russia and Hillar
Post# of 51171
Donald Trump said on Fox and Friends today that he was not seriously asking Russian hackers to go after Hillary Clinton's missing emails.
The Clinton campaign and Democrats have lashed out at Trump for his comment at a news conference Wednesday.
"Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," he said.
Trump said Thursday morning he did not mean for the remark to be taken so seriously.
"Of course I'm being sarcastic," he said in a sit-down with Brian Kilmeade.
Trump said no one knows who hacked the DNC emails, which were released by WikiLeaks last week. Democrats have insisted it was Russia and alleged that it was done to benefit Trump and hurt Clinton.
Trump said the contents of the leaked DNC emails are a "disgrace" and that the Dems now want to "deflect" attention away from them.
The Clinton campaign called Trump's initial comment a "national security issue," accusing him of advocating foreign espionage.
Charles Krauthammer, however, noted on Special Report last night that Clinton has long claimed that her 33,000 deleted emails were only personal in nature.
He argued that Clinton walked into a "trap" after Trump's comments.
