Pelosi: White Men Vote Against Interests Because o

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had some thoughts on why white male voters favor Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton.
Pelosi said on PBS that the GOP has been able to convince white men to vote against their own economic interests because of the "three G's."
"So many times white non-college-educated males have voted against their own economic interests because of guns, because of gays and because of God. The three G's. God being a woman's right to choose," she said, adding that some of those voters will never vote for Democrats.
Martha MacCallum discussed the comments with A.B. Stoddard and Steve Hayes this morning. Stoddard lamented that both parties seem to be writing off large segments of voters, calling that strategy a "mistake."
Stoddard disputed Pelosi's argument that Clinton is starting to do better in polls with white males, noting that Clinton's negatives with that group are even worse than Trump's "terrible" numbers with women.
Pelosi's comments are similar to what President Obama said when he was running for president in 2008 and spoke of white males "clinging to guns or religion."
Hayes said Trump's campaign is not making "inroads" with minorities and women, which is what the GOP vowed to do after Mitt Romney's 2012 loss.
He said that the big question in this election is whether there is enough white male voters to push Trump over the top.
