Net income for the comparable period of 2014 was $3.4 million, or $0.20 per basic and diluted share. The $1.1 million decrease in third quarter earnings was primarily attributable to a decrease in non-interest income partially offset by further non-interest expense reductions, an improvement in net interest income and an increase in the credit for loan and lease losses. For the nine months ended September 30, 2015, net income was $6.6 million, or $0.40 per basic and diluted share, a decrease of $6.9 million compared to $13.5 million, or $0.82 per basic and diluted share, for the same nine months of 2014.
