Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/tq7q38/global_commercial) has announced the addition of the "Global Commercial Aircraft Health Monitoring Systems Market 2016-2020" report to their offering. The global commercial aircraft health monitoring systems market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.86% during the period 2016-2020. The report has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with inputs from industry experts. The report covers the market landscape and its growth prospects over the coming years. The report also includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market. According to the report, Structural health monitoring (SHM), which is a condition-based maintenance activity, provides significant advantages over conventional damage detection techniques like nondestructive testing (NDT). SHM eliminates the need for the disassembly of aircraft components for damage evaluation, as required in most conventional damage inspection technologies. Initiatives taken by industry bodies such as the Aerospace Industry Steering Committee (SHM-AISC) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to enhance SHM systems and technologies have strengthened product acceptance and, consequently, market growth. M2 - Wed Jan 20, 5:17AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/wdsxg3/aircraft_health) has announced the addition of the "Aircraft Health Monitoring System Market Analysis: By Type; By IVHM Technology; By Subsystem; By Application - Forecast (2015 - 2021)" report to their offering. The aircraft health monitoring market is estimated to be around $2.3 billion in 2015 and is growing at a CAGR of 7.5% during the forecast period through 2021. The increasing demand for aircraft safety along with the improved functionality of aircraft health monitoring systems is driving the adoption. This market is largely dependent on the aircraft market which is growing at a slow rate of 4.6% according to Airbus. The ageing aircraft will result in growth of the aircraft market in the next few years as companies look to update to modern aircraft with advanced assistance systems including aircraft health monitoring systems. There have also been a growing number of systems with prognosis and diagnosis capabilities being launched. This represents a shift from early systems which were purely for fault detection. The reduced maintenance time and costs developed from these systems will also result in the low cost airlines looking at aircraft health monitoring systems in order to reduce turnaround time. Americas currently accounts for the largest market followed by Europe. The retro fit market for aircraft health monitoring systems will be driven by wide body commercial airliners, particularly in North America, due to the significant maintenance cost and time required for these aircraft.
