Socialism is an interesting term.....
People love labels, it makes for quick and easy identification. And for many once you stick the word ''socialism'' on something its automatically assumed to be bad......But even a bastion free entreprise like the US socialism is rampant.
Police forces, fire fighters, roads, education....these are all socialist programs. Previously police forces and firefighters were privately engaged....roads were private, and education was provided only to those willing and able to pay for it.
Social security, that's an obvious one. A society as a whole uses tax dollars to pay for things which benefit the society as a whole.
Corporate welfare is rampant.....witness the bailouts that paid to keep the financial sector afloat after their derivitive schemes almost cratered the entire world economy....and those responsible for bundling mortgage baked securities together and rating them AAA got bonuses.....total socialism.
Hard working men and women already burdened by taxes and a high cost of living were having their tax dollars used to pay bonuses to people already earning million dollar salaries.
