NFLX subs came in WAY BELOW Estimates! Stock Crashing
after hours. I see this as a Big Plus for UF because even
though UF is just a tiny fish in the big pool of streaming
at this point, it nevertheless shows NFLX is LOSING
market share to its competitors and ULTRAFLIX is
certainly one, and going to become a BIG FISH
in the next few years !
Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) -15.8% AH despite posting better than expected Q2 earnings, as results show a big miss in subscriber numbers: 160K net adds for the U.S., 1.52M overseas.
•In April, NFLX forecast adding 500K new U.S. streaming subscribers during Q2, down from 900K in the year-earlier quarter, and guided to 2M new international streaming subscribers from 2.37M a year ago.
•For the current quarter, NFLX projects 2.3M additional streaming subscribers, compared with analyst consensus of 3.5M adds.
•NFLX also offers little hope that China will provide a significant boost in the future, saying the regulatory climate in China for its service has become "more challenging."
•NFLX also announces a deal to premiere the new“Star Trek” original series in 188 countries, excluding the U.S. and Canada; the series, which is being created for CBS’ streaming service, marks the first time NFLX has acquired the international rights for an original show made by a rival streaming service.
