He is a pig. I have gone over this before and anyone suggesting that he his being charitable is a complete ignorant.
The biggest share went to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett also gave Class B Berkshire shares to his own foundation and to the foundations run by each of his three children.
Four of the five are in his control....the only reason he created the class B shares was so he could convert his non liquid class A shares....and dump them. Another 30% of his AGI being deducted ....and he still owns the majority of shares.
He bought berkshire for around 14 a share average cost...then 20 years later...shut it down completely. It was a twenty year unwind and write off for that bull shit artist.
Can't believe most individuals buy into his crap and praise him as a saint.
