Verizon Digital Media Services Helps UltraFlix Hit 1 Million Streams
By Chris Tribbey
There aren’t many 4K streaming services out there, and one of the first that does come to mind is San Jose, Calif.-based UltraFlix.
Owned by NanoTech Entertainment, UltraFlix streams 4K Ultra HD video to a variety of devices over internet connections as low as 4 mbps, with Ultra HD Blu-ray quality streams for connections over 50 mbps, thanks to the company’s proprietary mastering and encoding technology.
On July 14, the company announced a milestone: working with its content delivery network partner Verizon Digital Media Services, UltraFlix recently streamed its one millionth piece of 4K content.
“Our customers love both ends of our delivery spectrum. Customers that have low speed connections are amazed at the quality of our streams under 10 mbps and those lucky enough to have fiber or high end cable connections praise our quality that is second to none,” said NanoTech’s Phil Foley, VP of engineering.
“With our recent recapitalization plan almost complete, we are very excited as we will be adding several new content partners, an ever expanding library of content, exclusive programming and major technical enhancements in the coming months that will ensure that UltraFlix continues to deliver the highest quality version of its movies and programs available to consumers.”
UltraFlix currently offers Hollywood movies in 4K on demand, as well as a collection of free content, including movies, documentaries, TV shows, and nature and travel shows. Samsung, LG, Vizio, Sony, Hisense, Amazon, Apple, Google and more count themselves as device partners for the service.
