CB&I (NYSE:CBI) today announced first quarter 2016 net income of $107 million, or $1.01 per diluted share, compared to $132 million, or $1.21 per diluted share in the first quarter of 2015. Diluted earnings per share increased 5 percent in the first quarter of 2016 as compared to pro forma results for the comparable quarter in 2015, which exclude net income from the former nuclear construction business of $28 million, or $0.25 per diluted share. First quarter 2016 revenue of $2.7 billion compares to $3.1 billion in the first quarter of 2015, which included $488 million in revenue from the former nuclear business. On a pro forma basis, revenue increased slightly compared to 2015 first quarter results. New awards for the first quarter were $1.2 billion with a backlog of $21.2 billion.
