With today's technology, the code could have been downloaded in minutes not hours, days, or months. A few things are obvious. George makes no secret he is dealing with the Chinese. Cummings code is propitiatory. Putting two and two together logic says they don't trust George with their code and certainly don't want it having babies in China.
