( Glad to see some public response to that rant of his. It was really nasty ).
Conservative TV host Tomi Lahren had quite a few scathing remarks about the recent BET awards. In a video posted to Facebook, she delivered a passionate speech in response to actor Jesse Williams.
On Sunday night, Williams accepted a humanitarian award from BET. He used his congratulatory time on stage to criticize “whiteness”…
Tomi Lahren Doubles Down On BET Remarks: ‘I Don’t Care What You Call Me’
We’ve been floating this country on credit for centuries, yo, and we’re done watching and waiting while this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind, while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment like oil, black gold. Ghettoizing and demeaning our creations then stealing them, gentrifying our genius and then trying us on like costumes before discarding our bodies like rinds of strange fruit. The thing is, though, the thing is that just because we’re magic, doesn’t mean we’re not real.
This social justice type-of-speech infuriated Lahren and she lashed out on her “Final Thoughts” segment on TheBlaze TV. She took jabs at Williams, accusing him of being anti-police, then mentioned that his previous rhetoric regarding law enforcement was just prolonging the war on cops.
Lahren noted the hypocrisy of complaining to be a victim while at a very upscale event. “Was this a celebration of Black entertainment,” she said, “or an opportunity to complain about the plight of wealthy Black actors and musicians?”
This isn’t the first time Lahren has gone head-to-head with the black community. She famously criticized Beyonce after her Super Bowl Halftime performance, and called Jay-Z out for his drug dealing past.
She concluded her remarks on Williams with some strong words. “It sure seems like you want special treatment, it sure sounds like you would like a gold star at the end of the day just for being born,” Lahren said. “Get over yourself… You’re teaching black children to feel sorry for themselves. Nice work and how about YOU sit down.”
