Drawing conclusions based on false premises:
This is why no meaningful conclusion about the progress of the Prurisol trial can be drawn, based on the hiring of a new President.
The false premise is based on a misinterpretation of this portion of the press release:
The false premise is: since part of his duties involve "EXPLORATION" of partnering opportunities, therefore there can be no partnering opportunity currently on the table.
This is obviously completely fallacious reasoning.
There are many possibilities depending on one's reading of that phrase. Here are just a few:
1) A partnership is currently in beginning stages of study. An expert in this field was urgently needed, thus Dr. Bertolino was brought on board to assist with CTIX's side of the negotiation.
2) A partnership is in the middle or end stages of negotiation. An expert was brought in etc. etc. etc.
3) A partnership FOR ONE DRUG is on the table. CTIX has more than one drug. Therefore, there are other partnership opportunities FOR OTHER DRUGS that need to be "explored."
I could go on and on with tiny micro-parsings to create a huge list, but it's a waste of all of our time. Do you see how absurd it is to draw the conclusion from this verbiage, that there is no partnership in the foreseeable future?
We have NO WAY OF KNOWING what stage any partnership may be in, or not be in. To claim that a conclusion can be drawn from a word in a press release is ridiculous.
Those who want to keep talking the stock price down will keep boring us with all this kind of talk. Most of us here genuinely are long this stock, and I'd hate to see anyone being suckered by the false interpretations that people are spewing elsewhere.
