First Trust Advisors L.P. announced that the Board of Trustees of each of First Trust High Income Long/Short Fund (NYSE: FSD), First Trust/Aberdeen Emerging Opportunity Fund (NYSE: FEO) and First Trust Strategic High Income Fund II (NYSE: FHY) (each, a "Fund," and collectively, the "Funds" have authorized the continuation of each Fund's share repurchase program. Each Fund was previously authorized until March 15, 2016, to repurchase up to 5% of such Fund's common shares outstanding as of September 15, 2015, from time to time and at the direction of management personnel, in secondary market transactions in accordance with applicable law (each, a "Share Repurchase Program". The Board of Trustees has approved the continuation of each Fund's Share Repurchase Program until the earlier of (i) the repurchase of the remaining amount of each Fund's shares available for repurchase pursuant to its Share Repurchase Program, as listed below or (ii) September 15, 2016.
