Basic earnings per share were $0.54 at March 31, 2016 compared to $0.57 for the same period in 2015. For the first quarter, the return on average assets was 1.28% and the return on average equity was 8.64% compared to 1.40% and 9.50%, respectively, for the first quarter of 2015. At March 31, 2016, the Company had total assets of close to $1.21 billion which was an increase of 3.69% when compared to $1.16 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2015.

Premier realized net income of $3,325,000 (40 cents per diluted share) during the quarter ended September 30, 2015, a 5.5% increase from the $3,151,000 of net income reported for the third quarter of 2014. The increase in income in the third quarter of 2015 is largely due to an increase in interest income, a decrease in interest expense and a decrease in the provision for loan losses, all of which more than offset an increase in net operating expenses. On a diluted per share basis, Premier earned $0.40 during the third quarter of 2015 compared to $0.34 per share earned during the third quarter of 2014.
