OAKBORO, NC--(Marketwire -08/22/11)- Greenfield Farms Food, Inc. (OTCQB: GRAS.OB - News) (OTC.BB: GRAS.OB - News) announced that science continues to reinforce the benefits of grassfed beef. The British Journal of Nutrition (volume 105, issue 01) stated "not only confirmed again that red meat from animals 'finished' on grass for six weeks before slaughter contains significantly more omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids than meat from grain-fed feedlot animals, but also demonstrated for the first time that healthy consumers who ate that grass-finished meat for only four weeks showed significant increases in blood levels of omega-3s compared with those eating grain-finished red meat."
The article concluded that "Eating only three portions of grass-fed red meat per week (about 18 ounces cooked) increased study participants' omega-3 blood levels as much as some fish oils when factoring in cultural eating habits."
"The choice is becoming more than a mere preference for consumers when choosing what forms of red meat to eat," stated Larry Moore, President and CEO of Greenfield Farms. "Grassfed beef has been shown in multiple cases and scientific studies to be leaner than traditional grain fed beef and have multiple health benefits. Greenfield Farms and its producers consider it a privilege to raise beef in the time tested tradition of the family farm and provide consumers with alternatives in grocery store shelves across the country."
